The Calvet DC Alexsys calorimeter provides accurate heat and heat capacity measurements at high temperatures. It uses a 3D sensor based on an array of thermocouples, and operates using the drop calorimetry method. This technique involves dropping a sample at room temperature into the sensor, which is maintained at the measurement temperature of up to 800 or 1000°C. The instrument uses drop tubes for the sample and reference. Specific protection and inerting options ensure that sample reactivity with the atmosphere, the sensor and other calorimeter components is carefully controlled. Calvet DC Alexsys is particularly useful for studying the thermodynamic stability of metals, alloys, ceramics and minerals, and helps establish phase diagrams. The basic set includes : - A calorimetric block with a temperature range from 500 to 800 or 1000°C. - A 3D calorimetric sensor. - Two glass drop tubes with a maximum volume of 28 ml. - CS Evolution controller with 32-bit microprocessor, 24-bit A/D converter and Ethernet connection. - User manual supplied on USB key. - CALISTO software for Windows, enabling device control, data acquisition and processing.
